Michal Menert- Your Ghost (Official Video)

Sometimes a video is something else. Sometimes it is more than a tease to your eyes. It is more than a catchy uplifting way of escaping into a whole new dimension. One such video that has changed the way music is looked at, is the latest one by Michal Menert titled ‘Your Ghost’. The video is dedicated to to the memory of Tad Menert, his father, who passed away in 2010, the exceptional haunting video has left us pondering and melancholic.

Shot in a very Japanese legendary Akira Kurosawa inspired format, the entire video is in black and white and comprises of visuals of soul crunching capacity of a man struggling with life’s many challenges. The video beautiful captures the chasm that one feels after the passing of a closed one in an artistic manner.

“I wanted to showcase the vulnerability of grief, the self destruction and the distraction that you feel from it,” Michal Menert told a music website. “I think that much of the scene I’m in becomes a quest for making yourself look legitimate, professional, and superhuman; I wanted to show my weakness and my personality, as well as my connection to the music. I wanted people to see that it’s what’s keeping me alive, while showing my sincerity and substance rather than just keeping people dancing and distracted.”

The video is simply profound on many levels as it emotes a multitude of emotions and captures it sonic ally with the essence of grief magnified like never before.
