A brand new partnership has just been announced between top dogs Billboard and Twitter to form Real-Time music charts. Set for launch in the upcoming weeks, this shall encapsulate and track Twitter conversations based on music, in the United States, thereby assessing the success of a particular track/album.
The two companies have also agreed to seal a Twitter Amplify partnership, meaning this chart will be distributed beyond Billboard and also include in-tweet charts and in-tweet video round ups of the week’s most popular music on the social networking platform.
Billboard and Twitter’s partnership is the first ever real-time charts for Billboard, and follows the company adding YouTube data to its ranks.
