Justin Oh emerges as a bright fresh talent from South Korea as he combines with American singer-song writer Jonny Rose for “City Lights” being showcased on Silk Arrival, the club-friendly division of Silk Music. Along with a delectable ‘Dub’ version of the original, the release features two new remixes from Israeli maestro Gal Abutbul and French boy-wonder Matt Fax.
While the original delivers some strong vocals by Rose blended in with whirlwind grooves, Gal Abutbul‘s remix adds a mystifying background score around some encompassing sound effects. Around the break, the unmistakable vocal hook by Rose returns only to be joined by a powerful piano riff and energetic counter melodies amalgamating all the layers together. Meanwhile, Matt Fax returns as the prodigal son, to the enamoring division as he notches up another beauty in the guise of this remix. His traditional hard-kicking bassline and euphoric atmospherics add that slight tinge of surrealism with poignant effect. Adding innumerable synth breaks crowded around the vocal hook, Matt brings all the layers to coalesce beautifully as he continues his good form of infusing his unique brand of Progressive to everything he touches.
