British Progressive music sensation Marsh returns to the alluring Silk label to have his two promising singles re-released with two peach harmonic reworks. Released under the Silk Royal division, Marsh has found much acclaim through his track ‘Sleeping Now’, especially since it was picked up by Above & Beyond as their ‘Record of the Week’ on their ‘Trance Around The World (now Group Therapy)’ radio show. And now it has been remixed by label mainstays Rodrigo Deem & Vitodito. The other remix is of his exceptional track ‘Waiting for the Mail man’, by label newbie Jayeson Andel, as his first time contribution to the imprint could prove as a fantastical debut!
Rodrigo Deem & Vitodito are the sort of producers who love to retain the sanctity of an original whilst infusing their own creativity into the rework. With hints of the original vocal hook blended into the track a minimal percussion pattern leads the listener to first of two breaks. Shortly after, a quivering bassline begins to filter into the mix as the track slowly erupts into a Progressive Aural delight! In the main break, a splendid string riff alongwith piano themes are added, and the ethereal beauty of the vocal sample is at its height.
Meanwhile, Jayeson Andel proves that he is an artist-to-watch this year with this magical rework. Finding a perfect balance between a club-oriented soundscape as with a typical Silk approved musical terrain, Andel presents an infectious hook early on in his interpretation alongwith a series of syncopated vocal stabs, which punctuate an exhilarating breakbeat groove. As some energetic synthwork is added besides some euphoric pads and atmospherics, a brief buildup lands to a massive breakdown where all the layers come together to make this an absolute magical ride for the listener! Sure to have you smiling and jumping in no time, both these remixes display the extent of the label’s diversity.
