Music is essentially, with all its layers & facades peeled off, an art form. It has the power to encapsulate our senses, provide us with fable visions and heal or empower our spirits. It is, like all art forms known to man, a chance to create history everyday. Another able art form, that is perhaps more visual & sculptural is Architecture. Shaping environments to allow people to experience a space using most of their senses, is a difficult art form to perfect. So, when Techno mogul Richie Hawtin explains how the architectural expression of Guggenheim Museum, his brother’s studio & Sir Anish Kapoor’s sculptures, inspires his musical productions, it ratifies the fact that all art forms are synchronized with each other through their soul.
Best known for his abstract, minimal works under the alias Plastikman, the Techno legend and pioneer, has recently confirmed, that he’s going to release a brand new album. What’s most exciting for fans and music lovers is that the new album will be under this moniker, and Plastikman will return with an album after a gap of over two years!
Speaking in an interview, he explained how his set at the Guggenheim, inspired him to finish a brand new Plastikman album in 5 days! Describing the music on the album, he stated that it gave him an opportunity to experiment outside that familiar circle of club-friendly music, and make music that shapes the visual sculptures we see around us everyday. Everything that this legend has merely touched, has become sonic gold, and with a description so rooted to artistic expression through music, we are eagerly awaiting any further details that may come our way! Stay tuned for more details!
