Having had an already massive year, 2013 just got bigger for Diplo as he was awarded the Best Producer accolade at the recent Urban Music Awards. Totally deserving of it, the MadDecent chief has seen some effective praise flowing his way, following the release of his Revolution EP.

Despite the fact that the UMA’s are awarded on the basis of public voting, the artists featured vary from the genres of pop and R&B to soul and dance music, so even though it’s publicized and commercial, the artist demographic still stays true blue underground. Diplo may not fit into that anymore, but it doesn’t stop his music from being simply awesome. We at the BanginBeats send our heartiest congratulations, Diplo!
