As if any of us needed any further evidence that electronic music is spreading across the world and amongst different age groups like wild fire, along comes a new wave in dance music evolution; a nightclub for 9-15 year olds!

The idea was initiated and executed by 13 year old DJ Elle Morgan aka Ellisa Freeman who hails from Houston, Texas. Already possessing a sizeable amount of credibility within the Texas scene she said, “I only play for 21 and up…I thought [the under aged ‘club’] would give my younger fans a chance to see me”, according to the story from leading American publication ABC Local. As a result, the club, “Elle’s House”, finds its place in a section of an indoor kid’s party venue in Woodland, Texas called “Pump It Up”.

Now, you may be thinking about the sort of parental response this would be getting? Well, after initial qualms Elle’s initiative has been met with resounding approval and it seems to be the consensus from the original post. As per the standard rules, parents must check their wards in and out and even list emergency contact information. The event staff are decked out in neon garb in order to be easily spotted by children.

The club offers pizza, soda, candy, games, glow sticks and a dancefloor and rules include, avoiding bad language, no kissing and no twerking. Elle says, “Anything that wouldn’t fly at my house is not going to fly here…[but] it’s been really clean [so far]. Only PG”.

This comes as a great initiative for future ravers and one must admit, this is a pretty impressive start especially for Elle who looks to open her very own club someday!
