Hailing out of Italy, Sam Paganini is one remarkable character. Obsessing over music since the age of 15, he has played several instruments including the drums, guitar and the piano and has turned the decks this time to release his new EP Black Leather on October 14 released under Drumcode.
The EP comprises of four tracks starting off with some sinister ‘Chocolate’ which uses some detuned synths and groovy drums. The bassline slowly creates an identity of its own with the second track ‘Domino’ which also has an underlying synths. The track ‘Black Leather’ is everything you expect and didn’t expect from a techno track with its core synths in place and a throbbing bassline to match. The final track ‘Daegon’ uses dubbed out drums to incorporate a synth melody line that will blow your socks off and rounds off this well shaped EP.
