One of the most unbelievably steady weathered city in India, Bangalore played host to an incredible dance music genius recently. Considering music helps you escape the reality of drudgery and infuses a magic into real life, it seemed fair that the tour was called Music is Life. Be sure when you hear us say that we are talking about none other than Dash Berlin. The enigmatic superstar of electronic dance music was brought to India by Submerge on a three city tour which comprised of 3rd October, 4th October and 5th October, in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Pune. Dash Berlin has expressed his deep love for India time and again and to prove action speaks louder than words has made his way to the country multiple times to give fans a dose of beautiful melody. This time around too, Dash upheld his love for the nation by bringing his Music is Life India Tour to his fans in Bangalore for the very first time. As we at The Bangin Beats boarded our flights and geared up for his gig in Bangalore, we felt like a home coming party was in order. On a lovely Friday night with a temperature bordering on romance, we made our way to the venue by google mapping it and reaching it just in time for Dash Berlin to blow us away. The opening act for Dash witnessed Rohit Barker, Bangalore’s original party man and DJ warming up the crowd. The venue was one the most stunning outdoor venues the team has danced at, with beautiful weather, the stage at a perfect height, the lights and the bar in the far back of garden. The garden or ground area of Royal Orchid Hotel served the purpose for the perfect dance floor in the country. As the crowd geared up for one hell of a night, they sunk into the melody of music and smiled at strangers and partied like one big family. That’s the beauty of a Dash Berlin gig no matter where you are you always feel at home. As Dash took to stage, he spun a web of indigenous tracks which sent the crowd into a total frenzy. One of the very first tracks that Dash played was Above & Beyond’s ‘Sun & the Moon’ and One Republic’s’ If I Lose Myself’ mixed by Dash. As we began to lose our senses and drown ourselves in music, Dash himself danced and raved like there is no tomorrow. The most noticeable thing about his performances is that the man completely gives in to his sets and enjoys himself as much as he enjoys playing for the crowd. He will laugh, throw his hands in the air and jumps on top of the console. As he moved on to grip the crowd’s emotions with his track ‘Waiting’, it seemed like the universe was one with every single soul present at the gig, as they all swayed and sang along. The new one that he pulled out of his arsenal was none other than the every festival favourites ‘Tsunami’ by DVBBS & Borgeous and Antek’s ‘Born Slippy’. The gig sifted through an array of tracks ranging from ones with high emotional demands to ones that made you lose yourself to dance. He played Shogun’s ‘Skyfire’ which deemed fit since we were right under the stars and Dash showed no signs of stopping or winding up as we closed in on 10 pm. The set was exceptional and we could trust no one but Dash to pull out numbers like Dr.Kucho’s ‘Nexus’, Dash Berlin Feat Sarah Howell’s ‘Go It Alone’ which is part of Dash’s deluxe Music if Life album. The raging music was combined by powerful videos of tracks playing in the background which matched the perfect ambience around the crowd. As we, The Bangin Beats were very close to tearing up and bursting because of the overwhelming emotions that took over us because of Dash’s beautiful set, he dropped Ellie Goulding’s ‘Lights’, ATB & Dash Berlin’s ‘Apollo Road’ and ‘Get Ready for the Man’ by Cablejuice which made us switch from emotionally high to dance high. He continued to show his excellent skills with tracks like Rhythms Del Mundo’ ‘Clocks’ and Tiesto’s ‘Lethal Industry’ which was a deadly blow to the crowd who went absolutely mad as soon as they heard it. As the stars shone bright and we fell in love with Dash all over again, he charmed his way to the end by playing his very own ‘Till The Sky Falls Down’ and ‘Not Giving Up on Love’ by Armin Van Buuren which was the perfect finale! Bangalore had been waiting for a memory like this and now finally the joy was theirs to live. We will forever cherish this gig and we got to seal our fates right under the stars with none other than the prolific Dash Berlin. ————————————————————————————————————————– Special thanks to Submerge for the #MusicIsLife India Tour!
