Game Of Thrones ‘Hodor’ is actually a qualified DJ/Producer.

Hodor

We at Bangin Beats are not always about the serious side of music. We too like goofing off and fooling around just as much as the next guy. We also love TV shows. And popcorn. And some of us like Paris Hilton. So here’s an offbeat article about something that might interest you folk.

For those of you (mostly of all of you)  who follow the epic Television series, based on George R.R. Martin’s fantasy themed ‘A Song Of Ice & Fire’ series of Novels, you’d know just exactly who Hodor is.  For those of you who don’t, he’s the lumbering but kind-hearted oaf who serves as guardian to the Stark children.  Most recently in the show,Hodor helped Bran Stark on his journey to the North of the Wall, providing safety to the young lad, as well as comic relief for a season of the show which sorely needed it.

Why I’m giving you an introduction to this obscure GoT character? Well, it turns out, that the actor playing Hodor, Kristian Nairn, is a well respected DJ and Producer in his homeland of Ireland.  Not only has he been a resident DJ at the Kremlin, one of the biggest nightclubs in Belfast, for over a decade, but he’s also performed with such EDM icons as Calvin Harris and Mylo.  In addition to his mixing skills, Kristian is also a producer, having remixed a track by Mark Scott & Simon Alexander.

As a DJ, Kristian has played all over. With his background in music, its natural that he always seemed for have a “feel” for it, which a lot of others lack. Nairn has taken to the decks all over the UK and Ireland, Europe, and even as far away as Australia and South Africa, as well as many major events and festivals. Also at one stage, creating, and playing at Event Horizon; one of Belfast’s most noted all night house music club nights, attracting and playing alongside some of house music’s greats! Kristian, has also dabbled in production, including remixing for Brighton’s legendary Freemasons, and having his tracks included in their sets.

So we might probably get to see Hodor spin some fresh tunes when we venture North of the Seven Kingdoms. Or when we stop by Winterfell. Who knows? he’s probably prepared a special set for their journey to the North Of the Wall. Or we could probably have all the houses unite at the Westeros Winter Dance Festival (If there ever was one.)

Here’s one of his early sets from 2010.
