Known for his innovative style of music, Jamie Jones has had quite the career since he began experimenting with his musical identity in 1996. From clubs to warehouse parties to after-hours to rooftops, it was clear Jones had no intention of confining himself or his music. In 2009, Jamie teamed up with former Ibiza cohort Lee Foss and formed Hot Natured. This year proved quite successful for Jones as he was invited to record an essential mix on Pete Tong’s BBC Radio 1 show and also released the track, “Summertime” on one of the most respected underground labels, Crosstown Rebels.
Coming to 2013, his most recent release on Crosstown comes in the form of an EP titled, “Moan & Groan” is pure vintage in terms of Jones’ production.
The sheer depth of this track brings the listener on a layered journey filled with bounce, funk, and rhythm. Included in this EP are also Breach and Cassius’s remixes of, “Tonight in Tokyo” which Jamie released last summer in his album “Tracks From The Crypt”. Breach’s deep bass and Cassius’ high-reaching synth lines add just the right amount of flavor to this EP. Set to play some of the biggest festivals in the country this summer, Jones is ready to make this summer one for the record books.
So give the EP a listen and be sure to keep an eye out for Jamie Jones’s name on a lineup this summer.
