We all know that the three deities of Trance, Paavo Siljamäki, Jono Grant and Tony McGuinness, aka Above and Beyond, are quite huge fan boys of the hit TV show, Breaking Bad. They’ve spoken about it oh-so-often on their radio show, Group Therapy (earlier Trance Around The World) and now, they’re out with their ode to its protagonist, Walter White with an obviously titled release, “Walter White”.
Walter White was first brought into this world on their TATW 450/ABGT 001 celebration in Bangalore, India. Since then it has been taking the world by storm, literally. They’ve played it on every live set of theirs since then. It has even showed up on the Anjunabeats Volume 10 compilation, and their official ABGT 001 after movie. In fact, parts of the bridge can be heard at the start of every Group Therapy episode.
Just like the character himself, the track starts off with a moderately heavy beat, giving way to a very light, emontional synth break down, akin to most of Above and Beyond’s productions. And before you know it, the track picks up with dark, heavy stabbing synths. It starts off light and melodic, before breaking into a certain intensity and darkness, perfectly summing up all the characteristics that define Heisenberg, aka Walter White.
Even if you aren’t an avid fan of the show, this latest release is bound to get you dancing. It’s already devastated many clubs and arenas alike, and now its out for the masses to own.
