Pretty Lights vs. The End Of The World 2012

If you’re reading this, then you’re aware the world did not end… way to go Mayans. It’s safe to say that no one was in a huge panic about the world ending, but there were some artists who wanted to capitalize on the situation which is a smart move on their part. The “apocalypse” brings out the best in people – funkmaster Pretty Lights created this track, “The End Of The World” over a year ago, and only played it once at the NYE 2011/2012 show, and now he found the best possible time to finally release it.
This six minute track samples Black Sabbath‘s “War Pigs” and REM‘s “It’s The End of the World As We Know It.” This track features that unique Pretty Lights sound that has a bit of electro, hip-hop, and glitch – all rolled into one. I’m kind of glad the world almost “ended” because had it not been for the Mayans, Pretty Lights may never have released this.
Pretty Lights quoted:
”I performed this track on NYE from 2011 to 2012 then did nothing with it. But NOW, it is posted to download or stream and rock to on the day that signifies the end of the Mayan calendar. I love life. I wanna keep it going! I hope you enjoy this funny little number. You know how I do with the Remix/ MashUp/ Original combination freshness. Whether the solar flares engulf us or we evolve to telepathic beings, lets keep it classy.”
Enjoy, the beast of a track.
