Another day, another Swedish House Mafia rumor.

In a fake screenshot of a tweet by Axwell which took over the Internet last night, the possibility of the beginning of a new era in 2017 came to life. The image shared boasted of a symbol which read “AIA” made everyone (including us) speculate whether a brand new Swedish collaboration was on the cards yet again, much akin to their Swedish House Mafia era.

As the tweet read, “The countdown to a new era has begun. Never too late to get back on track.”, the hype generated was off the charts one more time. With Axwell / Ingrosso already running riot over the past few years with their massive tag team effort, it seemed like native young gun Alesso was looking to join in!

Moreover, with a date marked below the image which reads “03/26/2017“, it pointed at the final day of Ultra Miami 2017. Known to have brought down the curtain on the SHM era back in 2013, the date looked like the perfect moment to rewrite history. With manager Amy Thompson working with Alesso currently and having recently got back to working with ex-clients Axwell / Ingrosso, the possibility of the start of a new Swedish supremacy certainly didn’t seem to be a far-fetched dream.

But as always, Swedish veteran Axwell himself took to social media earlier today to shoot down the rumors in the most brutal fashion. Also, Amy Thompson chimed to vent out her own frustration on the repeated incidents of SHM rumors surfacing online. Check out his tweet below.

With the anxiety of a Swedish House Mafia reunion still rampant amongst dance music fans around the world, it isn’t wise of certain people to create fake and baseless rumors to achieve their two seconds of fame.
