Review: Electric Zoo 2015 Returns To NYC!

New York’s premier electronic festival – Electric Zoo, came back with a super show this Labor Day Weekend. The teams at ID & T and Made Events did a fantastic job of organizing the festival with a great lineup and an even better production setup. Upon arrival, we made ourselves at home with a beautifully set up media area right on the edge of Randall Island

Our pick from Day 1 of the festival was the set of Above and Beyond lighting up the NYC crowd with some brilliant music. Jono and Pavo did a great job of bringing back some of their instant classics like “Sun & Moon” and “A Thing Called Love”. The group’s remix of “Fly To New York” was the highlight of their set.

Day 2 had a lot of excitement in store, as the crowd was keen to see the various acts. With the sun setting behind the NYC skyline, we made our way through to our first set – Thomas Jack. A massive black and white structure that looked like a zebra ate an anaconda was how the stage was set up. As lights started to get dim and the visuals started to play Thomas Jack’s tropical house music started to take proper shape.

As we navigated our way back, we made sure to get a feel of the mayhem Deorro was causing on the main stage. His pulsating set was perfectly getting the crowd amped up. Deorro’s finished his set with the monster hit “Five Hours” and rightly justified his places as an upcoming force in the dance music space.

The Electric Zoo also introduced this new concept of Ezoo dollars at the festival. Instead of worrying about managing cash, attendees could simply top up their wristbands with money and simply tap and go while getting food/drinks. As the night was coming to a close, there was a definite level of excitement in the crowd for the Swedish superstar Alesso. We also managed to catch up with Alessandro for a few minutes where it was good to know more about the exciting things he has lined up for the future (India Tour in 2016?).

Alesso did a great job of mixing in some of his super hit tracks with some his trademark piano chords. As expected, he saved the best for last by giving the crowd sing the vocals of “Heroes” before dropping the remix version.

We jumped, pumped and put our hair down to a great evening by a great artist in the greatest city in the world. Terrific Sunday at EZOO!

A special thanks goes to Alexandra and her awesome crew at MSO PR (Vanessa, Jill and Charlotte) who were always ready to help out throughout the entire festival!
