Tidal, the Scandinavian high-fidelity streaming service acquired by rapper and music mogul Jay-Z was launched with the likes Calvin Harris, Daft Punk, Beyoncé, Coldplay & Kanye West amongst many other big players from the Music Industry. Tidal will be offering a more attractive set of terms to musicians than other streaming services like Beats & Spotify (Rumored to be almost twice).This would be a big game changing decision for artists complaining that digital music is not providing decent enough returns.
Another USP of Tidal would be exclusivity with artists like Kanye West, Daft Punk, and Madonna planning to offer their songs to TIDAL months before giving them to rival services. Infact, Taylor Swift has already made most of her albums available on TIDAL after pulling them off from Spotify last year.
This could be a big leap forward in terms of streaming services and Jay-Z‘s pals have already started showing off their support for Tidal on many a social media platforms.How this changes the streaming industry is a story for time to tell.
