Armin van Buuren brings back the magical old school trance with Gaia side project

You know it’s not any usual day at your work-space when there’s only one track that’s been playing on repeat on your music player since morning. It’s the five times only #1 DJ Armin van Buuren’s brand new single from his one of the most fruitful side projects of all times, Gaia. A well-known alias of van Buuren with his long time co-producer Benno de GoeijGaia has now become more of a sensation and one of the most sought-after acts in dance music community.

Keeping it true to the meaning of the project name, the productions that Armin has anytime released under Gaia are best claimed as ‘mother of productions’. And yet again, carrying forward the legacy of Gaia, Armin van Buuren brings fresh off his studio the ‘Carnation’. Just as we’ve seen Gaia perform and hardly move as the ground shakes around them and the cannons of fire burst in front of them because it’s their music that does the talking, ‘Carnation’ is no different in terms of power it beholds and will effortlessly fit in their upcoming live sets.

Carnation’ activates with trancy thrashing beats and fades into a smooth euphoric melody that will take you few years back when Armin released tracks like ‘Stellar‘ and ‘Status Excessu D‘. Slowly but surely, the song picks up steam and comes to life with an explosive synth play that remains true to its euphoric melody. With ‘Carnation’, the duo simply prove once more that when it comes to pure trance, there’s no one better. This single has also been included in Armin’s upcoming yearly mix compilation A State of Trance 2015, but you can buy the original mix now from Beatport.
