‘Legend’ is an over-used word these days, but Todd Terry can justifiably claim to be one. The pioneering New Yorker is one of the producers who helped define House music during the late 80s and early 90s with his signature blend of the sounds of Chicago, disco plus plenty of hip-hop attitude and sampling skill. Recording under his Gypsy Men alias, ‘Hear the Music‘ was released in 1992 and became an instant classic, showcasing Todd’s vocal sampling mastery and earth-shaking bass kicks. Remixing a classic is no easy task but Nathan Barato, Robosonic and Rene Amesz all offer their own vision for the track – each rooted in a massive respect for the original, but each recreated for modern dance floors.

Once again, the ever alluring Toolroom deliver an outstanding remix package of a seminal, classic house track in the shape of Todd Terry’s ‘Hear The Music’. Nathan Barato leads the charge with his groove-led re-rub thats aimed straight at the dance floor with that insane bass line and tough drum patterns. Robosonic take things down a nu-disco route whilst Toolroom stalwart Rene Amesz delivers a peak-time tech house re-rub.
