One of Modern electronica’s dedicated bands, UK based Modestep have had a steady rise to superstardom since their arrival back in 2010. With band lead members Tony & Josh Friend spearheading the Modestep sound into a brand new realm of live dubstep and electro-rock, the assistance of former members Matthew CurtisNick Tsang were critical in defining their sound across 2013 and their debut album Evolution Theory. Post the departure of Curtis and Tsang, who seek to build their solo careers now, Modestep recruited the budding talents of Kyle DeekPat Lundy, to be part of the next era of the Modestep sound. And now, nearly two years after any track from the band, we finally hear the direction they intend to take.

‘Snake’ not only returns Modestep on the music charts, but allows them to embark on a cross-genre quest, that certainly has become the flavor of the season. Perhaps, purists would be quick to ascertain this as a non-EDM sound, but its characteristic rock elements finds reminiscent of an electronica elements and a Modestep signature hook. From the sounds of it, the album will see them transition over to harder pastures of Rock-focused productions, but we’re going to have just wait to see, just how much Electronica we’ll find in the reborn Modestep sound. For now, here’s ‘Snake’ in a FREE DOWNLOAD.
