Know Your Artist: Dousk

Ioannis Ntouskos (aka Dousk) is an artist full of surprises. From the city of Patras, he is a Greek god to many, although more for his talent in music than his chiseled jaw and meditative eyes. Having produced for Vapour, Bedrock, Proton, Lost Language, Movement, Rhythmetic, Low Impedance, Klik, and Perspectives Digital to name a few, Dousk is a fastidious DJ of prime quality who’s popularity is rapidly spiraling out of control!

Born in 1979, Dousk graduated as a student of Classical Music Studies in 2000 that equipped him with a unassailable grasp of classical piano, jazz and electronic music production/ engineering. His roots can be found in his first album DIY and have only bound him strongly to the genres of techno and progressive since. However, influenced by 60’s & 70’s psychedelia & experimental electronic music, the late 70’s disco, breakbeats, the 80’s progressive rock/avant-garde scene and 90’s Detroit and Italo-techno, those genres are not stuck to by him in his attempt to provide his listeners a mix that appeals to their taste-buds. As the clock ticks on, he’s definitely proving his worth as an artist to watch out for! After years of dabbling with computers and music, Dousk has risen to fame and we know he’s here to stay.

In a day and age where DJs are born everyday, some with generic productions and some with masterpieces, Dousk joins the latter of the groups. He has come a long way from his first performance at a local club house with 2 Desktop PCs. With several notable performances and 2 absolutely refined albums on his shelf and a third one on its way, Dousk has established his name on the global charts through his constant return to some of the best clubs and appearances on music charts. With music featured on TV & Radio ads, the MTV Music Awards and hit TV-shows like CSI, My name is Earl and Doctor Who and his own show on Frisky Radio called Acrobatics, Dousk is a powerful musical genius who’s name is worth knowing.
