Dance music superstars in Forbes “30 Under 30″ 2014 list

The leading source for financial information and business news, Forbes, recently compiled their annual list of 30 most influential and dynamic under 30 year old individuals across 15 industries and this year’s music category sprung up some surprises as 3 influential dance music producers made the list which further established the rapid and consistent rise in followers of dance music!

Grammy award winning Bruno Mars took pole position on this list, followed by Swedish wonderboy Avicii who came in as a close second. With many hailing the return of the genius of Avicii last year with his artist album ‘True’, Forbes reported that Avicii was earning a staggering six figures per DJ gig, making him the most prodigious artists from the dance music industry this past year.

Coming below the likes of Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus & Drake, Scottish household name Calvin Harris also made an appearance on the list at #9. Becoming the world’s highest-paid DJ last year, who gets six-figure nightly fees plus additional cash producing for pop stars like Rihanna, Calvin Harris went on to credit the direction of Dance music in general. “The rise of dance music has been astronomical in the last three years…I happened to be in the right place at the right time”.

Rounding off the list, right at the end at #30 was German DJ/producer Zedd. Besides quickly becoming one of the hottest names on the dance music circuit, he has also produced tracks for list-mates such as Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.
