Sunburn Goa 2013: Day 3 Highlights

Day 3 was the biggest yet at Sunburn; a day of legends, with only the best DJs performing.  House music aficionados were in for a treat with a solid house music stage, courtesy Toolroom boss, Mr. Mark Knight. The Cubezoid stage hosted the Toolroom Knights, with Mark Knight along with Mark Storie and Prok & Fitch treating us to some really fine tunes.

Day 3

These Toolroom greats gave us a night to remember with so much wondrous music against the backdrop of Goa’s sunset. The line-up started with some luxurious deep house from Mark Storie, followed by really bouncy tech by Mr. Knight, and finally topped off with Prok & Fitch’s set.

Every house fanatic was treated to their heart’s content with such delicious music, from spectacular tracks like the House is a Feeling vs. Downpipe vs Man With A Red Face mash up Mr. Knight ended his set with, and the Lethal Industry remix played by Prok & Fitch.

D-Code, the head producer of the collective Shiva Sound system, was destroying the Bass Machine stage with his slew of DnB and dubstep bangers. The track that really made bass fanatics go crazy was Dizzy Step by Maztek. He definitely created quite an incredible vibe with his power packed set.

Pete Tong

The man who is touted as ‘The Father Of Ibiza’, Pete Tong, created an entrancing vibe at the Space Station. He sent his fans on an exemplary journey of pure quality music as he started his set with the beautiful deep house chartbuster Look Right Through (MK DUB III) by Storm Queen. The ones who are well-versed with the kind of authenticity that Pete Tong delivers in his sets were thrilled with his selection, making this two-hour episode truly a remarkable one.

Ummet

Ummet Ozcan was quite literally breaking the sound barrier at the Dance Temple. The Turkish-Dutch producer welcomed Sunburn with his brilliant blend of trance, electro and progressive beats. He began his energetic set with the electro banger Pantheon by Reepublic and later followed up with the beautiful smashup of Tiesto’s Silence and W&W’s White Label that really set the stage on fire.

NO_ID

No_Id

It was now time for NO_ID, the Dutch duo from Amsterdam, to take over the Dance Temple stage. Starting their set with tech house tracks, they swiftly raised the tempo by dropping some of their well known progressive and big room sounds. The most overwhelming moment of their set was when they dropped Pryda‘s new release F.A.T, which really got the crowd jumping.

Axwell

Next up was the Swedish legend, global dance icon and five-time Grammy nominated DJ, remixer, record producer and record label owner, Axwell, to take the crowd on the most thrilling musical experience of their lives. The entire Sunburn Arena at Vagator Beach was roaring one name – Axwell. Starting things off with the likes of Starlight by Don Diablo & Matt Nash feat. Noonie Bao, he took the crowd by storm, dropping some heavy sterling anthems such as his famous mix of In My Mind by Ivan Gough & Feenixpawl feat. Georgi Kay and the massive Sebastian Ingrosso & Tommy Trash feat. John Martin collaboration, Reload. It was truly a stellar set to mark the finale of the Sunburn Festival.

And with that, Day 3 ended as the biggest yet at Sunburn, with massive crowds and some of the finest and most respected DJs bringing it to a close – Swedish legend Axwell on the main-stage, and the one and only Pete Tong on the Space Station. Sunburn has really outdone itself this year in terms of production, stage design and attractions. What a fitting and spectacular end to one of the biggest dance music festivals in Asia.
