UrbanEars release Mad Decent Block Party Documentary

Diplo’s Mad Decent Block Party has come a long way since 2008. This year, they’ve raided through 13 cities across the United States in just under 2 months. UrbanEars, followed the crew throughout their success run, and documented everything they left in their wake, documenting the wild historic parties, and conducting interviews with Diplo and Mad Decent label manager, Jasper Goggins, as well as all of Mad Decent performers and how they feel about the Block Party concept.
“Festival culture is so big right now in America. You have the massive festivals, the kind of festivals that are geared towards a certain demographic, certain style and sound. But we wanted the MDBP to kinda go with anything goes,” says Diplo, talking about festival culture today.
Showcasing the growth of this bass-heavy movement since it’s inception in 2008, the documentary covers the entire journey. Check out the footage to see more!
The Partysquad & Mitchell Niemeyer – #Pantsdown (Club Mix)

What a hilarious title for a track with so many innuendos Pantsdown can mean. And thats what precisely The Partysquad & Mitchell Niemeyer hope to accomplish with their new collaboration #Pantsdown.
The track begins with a inconspicuous one liner ‘Party with my pants down’ which completely establishes where the track is headed. The brilliant boys from Dutch land have taken a dynamic unapologetic route with this track is a one way ticket to dance haven. Known for their unique one of a kind acts a far cry from the average EDM ones, the duo infuse a lot of reggae, trap or hardstyle influences into their tracks.
Released under Spinnin Records, the kicky track has the basics nailed down and the collaboration with Mitchell Niemeyer adds the secret ingredient to the awesome formula. It seems a heavy weight like Hardwell seems to have a hand in the track as well with massive support and advice.
The video for the track is monumental, even worthy of giving competition to the likes of LMFAO-I’m sexy and I know it being put to shame once you watch this one. The hilarious video has an average looking guy walking around the streets with literally his pants down and eventually partying hard without them! And boys there is also plenty of good twearking in it too!

The Partysquad – Molly (Original Mix) [Free Download]

Trap heavyweights The Partysquad, have got a new trap tune that’s dedicated to everyone’s favorite missing lady, Molly. Synonymous with electronic music of all kinds, Molly (Aka MDMA) is a recreational drug that induces a state of happiness, euphoria and energy in the user. Speaking of energy, this production is filled with it.
With sped up high-hat samples, a heavy bass and catchy synth riff layered under a very easy, sing-along chorus, this definitely makes for a trap anthem, and they’re giving it away for free. It’s even got a moombah bridge, possibly a nod to their close friend and colleague Diplo.

What do you get when you mix electro, trap, a little dutch house and add diplo to the bunch? prepare yourself for the tasty and groundbreaking release of “P.O.V 2.0”, the follow up release of the original “P.O.V” by The Death Set. With “P.O.V 2.0”, a mastermind reworking has been produced by Diplo and The Partysquad, and it is just a whole new level of gritty/sexy/delicious fun.
Definitely one to make you totally lose control on the floor, in the club or on your iPod. With it’s exceptionally twisted, wonky tube riffs, and an ultra catchy chorus. This one definitely needs to be heard on a sound system that can handle good, low, pounding bass.

Major Lazer – Lazer Strikes Back Volume 2 [Free Download]

Diplo’s side project Major Lazer‘s upcoming LP “Free The Universe” has been pushed to release on the 15th of April 2013, so to make up for it as well as a lead up to it they are giving out Volume 2 of the Lazer Strikes Back series for free.
This 4 track EP series has the Flosstradamus remix of “Original Don”, The Reef remix of “Jah No Partial” and the Blood Diamond remix of “Get Free” as well as “Talk About Me” a collaboration with Mad Decent members Baauer and Popcaan. The last track has Harlem Shakes beats resonating at the back with reggae vocals and stands out from the rest. Personally, my favourite one is the “Get Free” remix by Blood Diamond, low tempo and great vibes.
