Armin van Buuren collaborates with his Armada Music inmates ‘W&W‘ who are regularly featured on his radio show A State Of Trance. The intro of this sneak preview seems to be the work of the dutch master ‘Armin’, adding the uplifting atmosphere which transcends into Armin’s big trance synths and W&W phat bassline rising to a heavy electro influenced drop. This is one of the new exclusive tracks which will be featured on the A State of Trance 2013 Mix compilation that is set to release on Feb 14, 2013. The single will also be out on the 25th of February, on Beatport as an exclusive. So, Watch out for it.

Armin van Buuren & Markus Schulz – The Expedition (A State Of Trance 600 Anthem) (Original Mix)

We’re about two weeks away from the launch of Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance 600 world tour and there’s already a buzz in our very own Mumbai about the World #1 bringing the world tour to India along with a few more stellar artists.

As ASOT 600 dawns upon us in our very own magical city it’s only appropriate that the official theme song  (which premiered on Armin’s ASOT radio show) has finally been released earlier today.

ASOT theme songs are always meant to drum up excitement for the tour but they’re also almost alway great in their own right and Armin and Markus Schulz’s, “The Expedition” is no exception.

A dark and dramatic vibe, punchy synth riffs, and a slightly higher BPM than you would expect leads to ensure that this is something we’ll be hearing plenty of in the coming weeks.

In other news, look out for Armin’s upcoming A State of Trance 2013 compilation to drop on Valentine’s Day. This compilation is the 10 year anniversary edition and will most likely be filled with a lot of great material.

There is also news that the worlds best DJ is also in the process of wrapping his next artist album, so stay tuned in the coming weeks & months!

A State Of Trance Top 20 Of 2012

The much awaited A State Of Trance Top 20 tracks of 2012 has been released and we have Gareth Emery  taking away the plaudits with his track “Concrete Angel” taking away the first spot.

Looking at the big picture – this track has clearly shown how the year of 2012 has been for the EDM music fraternity. No matter how much you deny it, but having a mainstream influence in your track will certainly add towards the beauty of the tune. Essentially, “Concrete Angel” is how a perfect trance track is being heavily supported by a strong set of emotional vocals.

We have British singer-songwriter Christina Novelli whose honest vocals are a fine juxtapose to the vibrant and upbeat beats of Emery. As far as trance music goes, the nineties will surely be seen as the genre’s decade but what Gareth Emery has done in “Concrete Angel” is reinvent the genre with the addition of Novelli.

My take away on all of this is that pop music fans will pick out the well-crafted musical harmonies of the track whilst the more niche dance music fans will be rejoicing the uplifting melodies of trance music that will once again be defining the EDM scene next year as well!

On another note, the top 20 list of has a couple of Armin Van Buuren’s big hits from earlier this year as well. We have his collaborations with Ana Criado “I’ll Listen” and “Suddenly Summers” at number 2 and 6 respectively. There is special recognition for the likes of Omnia and Ira, Aly and Fila, Paul Van Dyk, and Markus Schulz, W and W, Solarstone, and many others making the list as well.

Deadmau5 & Armin van Buuren – ID (Preview)

Image

This is big people, Deadmau5 & Armin van Buuren collaborating. One’s a progressive house giant and the other being a trance sensation. Nobody would have seen this coming. But YES! it is happening and we’re going to have a track real soon that’s gonna cross genres. Both Joel and Armin have rejected the notion that a producer has to stay in his own genre, so a collaboration has us feeling optimistic of the outcome.
Image

So, it all began almost a month ago when Deadmau5 thanked Armin for playing one of his new tracks on the radio show “A State of Trance “ (ASOT  581). Then people started tweeting that both of them should do a track together. One thing led to another and this happened -

So, Both of them decided to do an open collaboration and it left every Deadmau5 & Armin fan out there star-struck. So Joel & Armin started sharing midi files, audio clips etc with each other and this is what we have right now of their track -

Armin previewed this sneak version of their track on ASOT 585. Right now in this version we can listen to Armin’s big trancey leads over deadmau5′s signature progressive chords with a beautiful melody. The track got mixed reviews from the fans and it still being incomplete, we hope to hear out the perfected version of it soon.

Follow them on twitter to stay updated with their progress -
