Griffin Newman Tries Really Hard Not to Throw Up in Nebula’s First Trailer for Patrick Willems Short Film ‘The Dinner Plan’ (EXCLUSIVE)

For those sensitive to emetophobia, be aware that the independent streaming service Nebula is set to premiere a new short film by director Patrick Willems called “The Dinner Plan” in the upcoming month. The film features Griffin Newman in the lead role, who plays a man struggling to avoid vomiting at a dinner party hosted by his boss.

The cast includes Griffin Newman alongside John Hodgman, Miriam Shor, Zach Cherry, Eudora Peterson, Geoffrey Cantor, and Cindy Cheung. This 33-minute film, which blends comedy and thriller elements, is scheduled for release on November 26, aligning with the Thanksgiving season.

The film’s synopsis reveals that it centers on a man with a rare food allergy who finds himself coerced into attending his boss’s dinner party. Throughout the evening, he must tackle his greatest challenge: to avoid vomiting in front of all the guests.

In Nebula’s initial trailer for “The Dinner Plan,” exclusively disclosed by The Bangin Beats, it is emphatically shown that the protagonist should avoid tomatoes at all costs. Ironically, tomatoes appear to be a favorite ingredient of the evening, much to his dismay.

The production team for “The Dinner Plan” includes Nebula’s own Dave Wiskus and Trenton Waterson, with Zara Glaze serving as the associate producer.

This film represents a significant development for Nebula since its inception in 2019. The platform, originally focused on educational and entertainment content, is gradually embracing more scripted offerings.

Patrick Willems, a prominent figure on YouTube and Nebula, is a New York-based filmmaker and video essayist renowned for his unique integration of in-depth film analysis and narrative storytelling. His first feature-length film, “Night of the Coconut,” debuted on Nebula in 2022.
