Enthusiasts of Taylor Swift swarmed the AMC Theatres application on Friday, eager to secure tickets for “Taylor Swift: The Official Release Party of a Showgirl,” an event lasting 89 minutes to mark the debut of her latest album, “The Life of a Showgirl.”
On the AMC application, users were consistently shown a screen stating a 2-minute wait time from the ticket release at 12:12 p.m. ET. The display also included a message: “Thank you for your patience as we experience high traffic volume. We have proactively created this queue for all visitors. When it is your turn, you will have 10 minutes to initiate your ‘Taylor Swift | The Official Release Party of a Showgirl’ ticket purchase or other online activity. To buy tickets or make A-list reservations today for currently screening films, please visit an AMC Theatre nearby or try again later.”
An AMC spokesperson commented, “The influence of Swifties is truly unparalleled! However, we assure you that both our website and mobile app are stable, and we are continuously processing a large volume of online ticket sales.”

Earlier on Friday, The Bangin Beats exclusively revealed that Taylor Swift is set to appear in theaters from Oct. 3-5, aligning with the launch of her new album “The Life of a Showgirl” on Oct. 3. This special event, reminiscent of her well-known “secret sessions” for album releases, will feature the premiere of the first music video from Swift’s 12th studio album, titled “The Fate of Ophelia.”
All 540 AMC Theatre venues will partake in this event, continuing Swift’s collaboration with AMC Theatres Distribution for her cinematic releases. The event will further extend to thousands of non-AMC theaters throughout North America, including those belonging to Cinemark and Regal. The screenings will commence simultaneously across various time zones at 3 p.m. ET / noon PT on Oct. 3.
“During the ‘Taylor Swift | The Official Release Party of a Showgirl,’ unlike typical showtimes, AMC guests are encouraged to sing and dance,” according to an AMC press release. “To ensure the enjoyment of all attendees, guests are requested not to stand on seats or obstruct any aisles or stairways.”
In terms of international availability, several regions will participate in the “release party” concurrently with the U.S. from Oct. 3-5. These regions include Canada, Mexico, the U.K., France, Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand. Ticket sales for these locations are set to begin next Tuesday.
Countries not listed above will have access to the film during a subsequent weekend in October, with exact dates to be announced around Oct. 3.
