Sabrina Carpenter Triumphs with Best Pop Vocal Album at 2025 Grammys
Sabrina Carpenter clinched the award for Best Pop Vocal Album with her album Short n’ Sweet at the 2025 Grammy Awards, marking her first win in this category. She outshone a field of strong contenders including Ariana Grande with Eternal Sunshine, Billie Eilish’s Hit Me Hard and Soft, Chappell Roan’s The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, and Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department.
Upon receiving her award, Carpenter expressed her astonishment and gratitude, saying, “Hello. I’m still out of breath from the performance, so I really was not expecting this. And, all those nominees that were just on the screen are some of my favorite artists in the world.”
She continued her speech emotionally, “This is, woo, my first Grammy, so I’m gonna cry. I—I wrote names, so I wouldn’t forget, on this napkin… but thank you to the Recording Academy for having me and having everyone here tonight in celebration and in honor of everything that’s happened. I feel so lucky to be able to come together and do something so special and beautiful and celebrate music. I want to thank all the fans that let my music be heard by the Recording Academy. I want to thank my mom for driving me to every voice lesson.”
Earlier in the evening, Carpenter delivered performances of “Espresso” and “Please Please Please” from her award-winning album at the Grammy ceremony. She had already secured a win for Best Pop Solo Performance for her song “Espresso” earlier in the day.
