4 Years Later, Steve Aoki Apologises for Breaking Woman’s Neck

In a legendary 2013 freak incident (although not so freakish considering Aoki is involved) Steve Aoki tossed a life raft into the crowd and jumped from a 20-ft balcony, falling directly on top of an attendee Brittany Hickman.

At the time Brittany fell unconscious from breaking her neck and went on to sue Aoki and Hard Rock Cafe. After a 2 week trial a majority of vote landed in favor of Hard Rock Cafe. However, this did not stop Aoki and Hickman from reaching a ‘confidential settlement’ which involves an apology 4 years after the incident happened.

The official statement is as follows:

“Steve would never want anyone to get hurt at one of his shows and is sorry Ms Hickman did. After they reached a confidential settlement, they had the chance to speak, and Steve got the chance to apologise. The favorable verdict for his co-defendant, Hard Rock Hotel, brings welcome closure to all parties.”
