After the resounding success of Flume’s sophomore LP ‘Skin’, the Australian shining talent left a large space for exciting possibilities, mainly in the remix space. Despite many of his tracks still blaring around the town, the whole new remix dimension has left everyone reeling for more. While original remixes are just coming out to the world, one of the most anticipated of the lot remains Illenium’s take on the catchy pop hit ‘Say it’ with Tove Lo. So it’s not a surprise that the crowd went wild as he dropped a preview during a recent show in San Jose.
Despite the Melodic Bass Master having a similar style to that of Flume, he manages to add his alluring touch to the track. With a layered chord progression neatly placed under Tove Lo’s addictive vocal hook, he steers the track to his melody-filled future bass style, leading to an enhancement of the original track, while keeping it loyal to it’s roots.
