In a bid to increase its presence in Asia, dance music’s mecca Tomorrowland might be all set to travel to Thailand for the festival’s first Asian edition.
Having already hosted Road To Ultra: Thailand since 2014, with this year’s edition having seen Avicii and Martin Garrix, hosting Tomorrowland Thailand could be possible. Says Chatri Tungthiankul, World Planet Entertainment‘s managing director, about Thailand’s chances of hosting Tomorrowland:
We have to prepare a venue that can host up to 450,000 attendees. We will also have to be ready to facilitate the journey for festival-goers from other countries, specifically at the immigration control, because when people travel to the festival in other countries – Belgium, Brazil and the US – their personalized festival bracelet does all the work, including that of a passport.
If at all a Thailand edition of the festival happens, it would mark Tomorrowland’s debut in Asia, having only done Tomorrowland UNITE in India last year, and this year in Japan as well. With Tomorrowland Brasil having had two successful editions, Tomorrowland Thailand doesn’t look too far fetched at all.
Stay tuned for more updates.
