The deadmau5 hype train is back on track yet again. After a brief hiatus from his massive SoundCloud showcase, Joel is back at it having already previewed a new track yesterday meant exclusively for trolling purposes. But now as it seems, the mau5 man is back flexing his muscles with two ingenious pieces of art.
Titled ‘Whelk then’ and ‘Cat Thruster’, the two possible demos embody downtempo and electro progressive sounds respectively. While the former has a genuine cinematic direction towards it, the latter breaches into deadmau5’s signature rough-electro progressions which is introduced in an atmospheric setting. A remarkable effort once again, check out the two tracks below and keep your fingers crossed hoping the man finishes these records for our listening pleasure!
UPDATE:
Deadmau5 now has also updated the ‘Cat Thruster’ demo with a new funk version and if his tweets are to go by, he possibly wants fellow Canadian artist The Weeknd to collaborate with him on it. Now while we’re not used to Joel being so appreciative about others’ work, this should be interesting to see whether the ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ superstar reverts back. Until then, listen to the instrumental below!
