Electronic music superstar Steve Aoki‘s rise to fame is something most musicians can dream of. The Dim Mak boss who started out from his college dorm is now one of the top millionaires of EDM. And also, while we consciously come to terms with the fact that Steve’s ultimate party rage looks over a true immersive music experience, there is no denial in the growth of him as one of industry’s strongest brands.
The electro heavy monster who has been making headlines due to his caking antics has announced the world premiere of his very own full length documentary, I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead. The motion picture which was launched exclusively at last year’s Cannes International Film Festival will finally be showcased to the public at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York on April 15th.
The documentary directed by Justin Krook with producers Matthew Weaver (Rock Of Ages), Matt Colon, Happy Weaver and David Gelb (Chef’s Table, Jiro Dreams of Sushi) will make viewers chart Aoki’s journey through the anticipation and buildup to one of his biggest shows ever. The film also covers other topics which includes a proper insight into his family’s famous restaurant, Benihana. A cult icon in the making, stay tuned for more updates on the availability of the DJ’s documentary.
