When one of your tracks gets a remix treatment from label mainstay, you know you’ve crossed a significant career milestone. Anjunadeep main man Jody Wisternoff giving Lane 8’s original ‘Sunlight’ a proper makeover is one such example. Goldstein released the mesmerising number among a collection of surreal records of his debut studio album and has been regular in his sets since then. Unlike the original’s soothing and optimistic mood, Wisternoff’s rendition features a dash of hi-hats with retained melodic elements from the original running in parallel. The poignant vocals just seamlessly fit-in with the master’s sound as he layers a striking bassline groove with mellow synths beneath the summery top line. Wisternoff said:
It was a pure pleasure lending my touch to this absolute stand-out moment from Mr. Goldstein’s Debut LP. Liquid analog synths and cascading arpeggios were the order of the day, whilst staying true to the gentle vibe of the original. Super happy to have this one out there.
