Tiësto has been at the helm of the dance music scene for more than a couple of decades now. The 47 year old Dutchman’s contribution towards electronic music goes without saying whose actions have spoken louder than words. And as an acknowledgement ‘for his extraordinary contribution to Dutch music‘, Tijs Michiel Verwest has been presented with the Edison Lifetime Achievement Award by NVPI. Talking about the Award recipient, the jury shed out their views saying:
“In a changing landscape dance Tiësto is already years at the top. He does not stick to a winning formula that guarantees commercial success, but looks to the boundaries of the musical spectrum and challenges them through special collaborations.”
Moreover, his latest recognition also makes the ‘Adagio For Strings‘ producer the first dance music artist to be honored with the Lifetime Award. As Tiesto joins the likes of Miles Davis, The Beach Boys, U2, Phil Collins, and Stevie Wonder, this latest development acts as yet another milestone for electronic music.
