It’s no secret, Eric Prydz has and always will be one of dance music’s greatest producers and DJs. The Swedish DJ recently announced his debut album Opus under his primary alias, Eric Prydz. After being in the game for as long as he has, his debut album is long overdue, and has every music fan, critic, and anyone who’s anyone in the music industry, eager in anticipation with bated breath.
One of the tracks from said album is Breathe featuring Rob Swire from Pendulum and Knife Party. The track itself, is a departure from Prydz’s signature progressive house sound, in terms of it having a very down-tempo, almost pop-ish beat structure. However, its still rife with Prydz‘ synth arpeggios; However the scale feels somewhat similar to Pryda’s Neuron.
All in all, it’s still Prydz, and still a surprise, as he manages to do with almost each production, and makes for a welcome departure from the usual Prydz sound, and Rob Swire‘s uplifting vocal hook adds a nice touch to the production.
We can’t wait for what Opus has in store for us, which we’ll only get to see February 5th. Till then here’s a sample.
