Swedish powerhouse Steve Angello known for crafting sonic masterpieces has been inducted to BBC Radio 1‘s Hall Of Fame. The massively successful artist who is coming fresh off the release of Chapter 1 of his debut album Wild Youth talked about his original influences, future plans and obviously Swedish House Mafia.
The SIZE boss who has been a part of the industry for 20 years spoke about his earliest influences, growing up with Sebastian Ingrosso and being a part of the small community which shaped the dance music industry. Talking about Swedish House Mafia, he discussed the early stages of the trio when they played three distinct sets and teamed up occasionally and when asked about the legacy they had left, he said “I feel like I’ve been part of something really amazing. I’m humbled that I could live through something like that” but sadly it seemed like our SHM plans were buried once again when the the question of a reunion popped up.
“If someone came in 5 or 10 years and said, ‘Hey we have this charity event,’ we would obviously consider it. […] It’s just different now, we’ve grown apart.“
After Pete Tong officially inducted him into the Hall Of Fame, he was asked about his new goal which received a fitting reply, “Mastering what I’m doing.”
