Pep & Rash‘s brilliant future-funk-deep house tune ‘Rumors‘ quickly ascertained the duo to dizzying heights, owing to the unique soundscape rooted in the dancefloor. Spinnin’ records had known early the riff the track would create amonng the Dance Music universe, hence they too had been building enough anticipation and excitement behind its release and official music video launch. Now, the original gets more pampering, thanks to an exhaustive Remix EP featuring the likes of Tujamo, Deniz Koyu and Curbi. We take a look at Essex based DJ Curbi‘s take on the now iconic track, as we anticipate the rest of the EP to be unveiled around the release date of April 20th.
Curbi starts off the track with the same spark and edge the original offered, with the added zings of synth breaks and delicious waveforms adding to the mystique that the vocal sample adds. Acting more like an extension to the original rather than a reinvention, its only around the break that Curbi really gives his impetus onto the original with a destructive arrpegiated synth chain that is sure to smash a few floors and get the sweat buds all excited.
