Ultra Music Festival Co-Founder Alex Omes Passes Away

Alex Omes, one of the co-founders of the legendary Ultra Music Festival has passed away aged 43. According to Miami New Times reports, Omes’ death first appeared on social media a couple of days ago, though the cause of death is still unknown.

One of the pioneers of Miami’s nightlife, he was responsible for the creation of Ultra Music Festival, one of the largest dance music events in the world. Overseeing Ultra from 1999 to 2010 along with business partner Russell Faibisch, there were a series of conflicts which led to them parting ways.

Omes’ greatest achievements include innumerable successful events in Miami, noteworthy mentions being 2011 and 2012 with Swedish House Mafia, and their closing set at Ultra 2013.

We offer our deepest condolences to his near and dear ones in this time of distress.
