Back in October, we brought you the news that Tomorrowland in all its probability might be heading to India in 2015. According to Goa’s Tourism Minister Dilip Parulekar, who gave the following statement:

Apart from the proposal received from Percept Company and Supersonic to host musical events in month of December, we have also received a proposal of one of the most notable global musical festival group ‘Tomorrowland. The event organisers have approached us and have shown interest to host the event in mid of January but the responsibility for identification of land will have to be borne by the group since they require 3.5 lakh sq mts of land which is difficult to identify

Well, Tomorrowland officials have put those rumours to rest. In a recent interview with the Bangalore Mirror, Debby Wilmsen, Tomorrowland’s spokesperson ad press coordinator confirmed the rumours to be false and said:

Like I’ve mentioned, that is not true. We organise TomorrowWorld US together with SFX, maybe SFX has plans to do an event, but Tomorrowland is NOT coming to India

This statement follows her statement in the Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, where she said
Tomorrowland is always exploring possibilities and options but in the immediate future, the full focus is on the first Brazilian edition in May 2015, next to the editions in Belgium and USA.

So, even though Tomorrowland is not setting foot in India soon, we still have our very own Sunburn Festival and Vh1 Supersonic to look forward to. And regarding international music festivals coming to India, who knows what the future might hold for us.
