One-third of Dance Music behemoth Swedish House Mafia, Steve Angello, is planning to call it quits on his fairly successful relationship with Columbia Records, which would explain why we haven’t been hearing a lot about his upcoming ‘Wild Youth‘ album. Despite having successfully released the emotion-rich hit single ‘Wasted Love‘, ft. Temper Trap‘s lead vocalist Dougy, under Columbia’s label, the Swedish-Greek veteran intends to buy out the remainder of his contract signed with Columbia records.
Now everyone knows buying out a contract can be an expensive affair, but Steve Angello’s prolonged career of massive hits and unmatched live sets has gone on to ensure he has the resources necessary to do exactly what he pleases. It is believed that Angello plans to release his upcoming album under his own label SIZE Records, which boasts releases from electro-talent Kryder, Angello’s famed brother AN21, Tom Staar & even EDM producer-cum-movie star Ansel ‘Ansolo‘ Elgot.
It seems all this has stemmed from Angello’s annoyance at Columbia’s underwhelming promotional activities for ‘Wasted Love‘ and therefore now believes SIZE is the perfect platform to promote ‘Wild Youth‘. However, an official announcement from the main man himself is yet to come! Updates to follow…
