The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has taken the internet by storm. The challenge, which has celebrities throwing ice water on themselves and then nominating their friends to do the same or else donate a particular amount to the ALS Association, who are working to fight Amyotrophic lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease or Motor Neurone Disease in the UK.
So after the challenge was taken by personalities such as Oprah Winfrey, LeBron James, Bill Gates, Justin Timberlake, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mark Zuckerberg, Robert Downey Jr. and lots of other celebrities, how can our dance music icons stay behind?
Here we bring you the DJ’s who’ve taken the Ice Bucket Challenge and nominated other DJ’s to do the same.
Steve Aoki
Steve Aoki was challenged by snowboarder Louie Vito and actress Camila Belle, and successfully pulls off the challenge with the help of Deorro, and then nominated Hulk Hogan, Mike Shinoda, Dan Bilzerian, Verne Troyer, Taryn Manning, Mesut Özil, Martin Garrix, and Deorro.
Check out the video of his challenge here.
The Chainsmokers
The Chainsmokers took it to themselves for the Ice Bucket Challenge and nominated Tiesto, 3LAU and Adventure Club for the challenge.

Tiesto
Tiesto was nominated by The Chainsmokers and ice hockey player Brandon Prust. And he pulled it off in style! Surounded by bikini clad girls at the Wet Republic pool in Las Vegas (where he also holds a residency), Tiesto completed the challenge and nominated Calvin Harris, Skrillex and Martin Garrix for the challenge.

Nicky Romero
Nicky Romero accepted the challenge and pulled it off in the most unique way possible. In front of a crowd he was playing for in Ibiza! Doing it with MAK J‘s Countdown playing from the console, Nicky nominated Martin Garrix, Afrojack and Spanish moto racer Jorge Lorenzo.

Martin Garrix
Martin Garrix had already been nominated by Steve Aoki, Tiesto and Nicky Romero. So backing down probably wouldn’t have been a smart choice. Barring his head, his whole body is dug under sand at a beach, and after pulling of the challenge, Garrix nominates Ed Sheeran, Dillon Francis and the King of Netherlands, Willem-Alexander.

Calvin Harris
Calvin Harris accepted the challenge from Tiesto and American singer Tinashe, and pulled off the challenge shirtless (this one’s going to be a favourite with the ladies). He then nominated John Newman, Eva Shaw and Emil Nava for the challenge.

Deadmau5 on the other hand donated $10,000 without taking the challenge and tweeted about it.
Who knew dumping buckets of ice cured Lou Gehrig’s disease. And all this time, i thought stupid things like “research” helped…

…so on that note, i’ll be donating 10k to Lou Gehrig’s disease research while the rest of the circus does fuck all.

…and email has been sent to accounting n stuff.. feels good 😀 … and… I’m totally dry. 😀

3LAU too did something similar, but in a different manner.
Though all of them have taken the challenge, they have donated money for the cause too, as well as spreading awareness for the same.
If you want to do your part and donate too, you can do that here (with or without the Ice Bucket Challenge).
