“When I was a kid, I really liked rusks (English biscuits), hence I picked the name Rusko because all my friends used to call me that” said Chris Mercer a while back in one of his interviews. Rusko a.k.a Chris Mercer has to be one of the most talented and multi faceted producers who has walked the face of this earth. Now, the larger than life man that he is has announced his EP “!” along with a release of a track from the EP called ‘Sunshower’ full worldwide release set for 29th July 2014 via Universal/FMLY Records.
“This is the first time I’ve ever released a record that’s not dubstep or drum and bass. It’s not house or techno either – I tried to create five fun tracks that fit into no genre, or maybe a whole new genre altogether! … And be prepared, this is only Vol. 1!”, said Rusko in an interview with Rolling Stones.
Experimenting with nuances have always been Rusko’s style of making music and he had completely locked himself into a studio while channeling his bass bender energies to producer great music. The efforts seems to have paid off immensely as the new track ‘Sunshower’ gives us a sneak into what exactly he means by completely offbeat music. The uncategorical number is surprisingly pleasant and includes fine piano routes and completely different set of slim beats.
