New York based Disco House specialists Solidisco dish out a special new track which has all the elements of feel-good House music and more, as they reinvent a classic. Nina Simone‘s angelic voice, has amazed generations as she’s known to be the queen of Jazz/Blues/Folk/R&B music. Taking vocal loops from her 1965 single ‘Feeling Good‘, the Happy-Disco boys add their own unique interpretation and spice up the classic with a spirited reinvention of gritty basslines and chunky synths! And the best part…they’re giving away the track for FREE!
The track uses plenty of samples from the original, paying homage to the classic sounds, as well as fusing them with contemporary electronic signatures. Jazz elements stutter and overloop as Nina Simone‘s heavenly voice lifts our senses around the quarter mark, before a hard-hitting bassline swoops in and introduces a throbbing melody. More elements are introduced that synergise with vocal loops from the original, as acidic arpeggios and video-game-esqe blips add various textures on the track.
