During the ‘A State of Trance 650‘ broadcast in Utrecht, fans worldwide were treated to a surprise as superstar, Armin van Buuren conducted a quick interview with one of the world’s best dance music exponents, Hardwell who not only dropped a little bit of a hint about his forthcoming debut album but also went on to express disdain over the prevalent trends in the industry.
In a candid moment, the World #1 admitted that he is “a bit sick of what’s going on in EDM right now”, before speaking a little more about plans he has slated for his debut album. The 26 year old Dutch DJ/producer also said that, he would be keen on dabbling in elements of trance and hip-hop, and will be shifting his focus after taking a month off in order to devote time to himself and his music.
In Hardwell’s words;
“I’m experimenting with a lot of new, different styles. I’m a bit sick of the same formula that’s going on in EDM right now so I’m just trying to change boundaries and look at what’s going on in the rest of the world–even in the hip hop scene and the trance scene–and try to combine as much as possible.”
Hardwell then shared a joke along with Cosmic Gate that whenever he isn’t touring he is working on his album. This will be Hardwell’s debut album and it goes without saying that fans around the world are already buzzing to see what the world’s #1 DJ can produce.
While not too many details have been made known as yet, we wouldn’t be entirely incorrect to assume that Hardwell’s closing performance at the upcoming Ultra Music Festival in Miami may be the grand debut for his new sound & style.
