Last week, Laidback Luke unleashed the first release of the year on his label Mixmash Records titled, “Collide“, a remarkable collaboration with Project 46 and vocalist, Collin McLoughlin.

The track soars along on a bed of thick pumping house drums and uplifting melodies, reminding you of every peak-time, hands-in-the-air festival moment you had last summer. While the video could have easily been crowd shots and DJ booth clips from either of the collaborators’ massive shows, the Mixmash team has decided to do things differently this time around by crafting a modern-day version of Weird Science.

Weird Science is a 1985 classic teen flick where a pair of high school nerd bombers use their computer to create a totally bodacious dream girl and in the video for ‘Collide’, director Jelle Posthuma builds on this plot and thickens it considerably.
