A State Of Trance – Year Mix 2013: Mixed By Armin van Buuren

A yearly tradition, the much awaited, anticipated and the much talked-about compilation of the best in 2013 is out now. At the end of every year, we are made privy to a variation of Year Mixes which repeat the auditory trends of the year gone by. None of said mixes, however, are as decorated as Armin van Buuren’s A State of Trance Year Mix.

Tthe Trance King has buckled 54 and 47 tracks (on CDs 1 & 2, respectively) into a 2 hour long masterpiece of viciously rush interlaced tracks to drive the year mix to a whole new level.

The intro as hinted by him (check sound cloud link below) sees the case of The State vs. Trance being called to court with none other than Armin being summoned to be the first to state under oath. Hillariously, Armin promises to follow his heart and not the charts, and to build up his sound from a solid groundwork to an upsurge of 138 bpm. With this he signifies to us that it’s only a matter of what you believe in.
