EDC Chicago’s inagural edition generates $26.1 million for local community

An analysis undertaken by Beacon Economics, LLC has estimated that the inaugural EDC Chicago has cycled an impressive $26.1 million into the city’s economy. According to a press release from Insomniac, the weekend festival created 279 full-time equivalent jobs and generated income up to $10.9 million for local labourers.

Insomniac founder and CEO Pasquale Rotella shared his thoughts on these impressive numbers, “When we produce an event we want it to be a positive and memorable experience for the fans while also benefitting the communities that host our events. To learn that our festival helped generate over $26 million for the local Joliet economy is really gratifying”.

With all of the negative attention paid to dance music festivals this year, it’s great to remember how festivals can also benefit communities.
