Let’s Be Friends – iOA [EP]

British duo, Let’s Be Friends are out with a new EP. And by the sound of it, this could be very promising. After reaching the top of the beatport electro charts with their remix of Fool’s “Feelings”. Their newest release iOA (Short for Invasion of America) have reached #2 on the electro-house charts.
The EP contains a varying range of bass-heavy renditions of different genres of electronic music.
Come N’ Get It is the first song of the EP. It has a groovy beat with phasered samples, that then breaks into a progressive peak-time synth riff layered under a high pitched vocal verse sample. This then cuts off to give you an abnormally long break keeping you at the edge of your seats, after which an immensely massive electro drop comes about. A tribal beat, wobbly grinding synths, and chopped up vocals. It makes for a perfect blend of electro and progressive house. The Bigger Bang, this one is a heavy electro house number, that starts off with a catchy grinder synth stab riff, that breaks into a complextro, wobbly tune. Last up is Invasion Of America, which starts off with a sample of what seems to be an excerpt of a monologue layered under sinister synth horns. This breaks into a sample of “Invasion Of America” repeated till a heavy, in-your-face, hardstyle drop blows you away. This then breaks into grimey, glitchy electro-infused dubstep.
