Random Access Memories the newest Daft Punk Album, has shot a lot of yesteryear’s musical talent into the spotlight. Specifically, Giorgio Moroder and Nile Rodgers. It seems like Nile Rodgers has bitten the electronica bug and has reportedly been collaborating with a bunch of electronic artists, including, most recently, Avicii.
For those of you who don’t know, Nile Rodgers co-wrote and played the guitar on several tracks for Daft Punk’s heavily praised Random Access Memories. Recently he took to twitter to convey his joy after working with the swedish DJ. Here’s what he said:
I JUST CUT A BAD A$$ SONG w AVICII CALLED "LAY ME DOWN" fb.me/1e6WjOCec—
Nile Rodgers (@nilerodgers) July 01, 2013
Avicii also added more spark to the curiosity built up around Lay Me Down by adding what could possibly be lyrics from the production. He tweeted:
"Lay me down in darkness – and tell me what you see"—

After a daring, albeit innovative, project with Aloe Blacc (See: Wake Me Up), I’m sure most of us can’t wait to see what Lay Me Down has in store for us.
Stay tuned to The Bangin Beats, for more information on that, as it happens.
