Flashback: deadmau5 – Strobe
Everybody’s favorite rodent ‘deadmau5‘ (Joel Zimmerman) created the masterpiece ‘Strobe‘ back in early 2010. ‘Strobe’ – considered to be Joel’s best work is a perfect composition of strong melodic work play, tantalizing chords with a prolonged intro that turns into the signature mau5 kick-snare beatwork wobbling around the strong bassline and the melodies. The track originated from the 2006 song by deadmau5 – “Then We Stood Still” and it’s a perfect example of progressive house with influences of ambient music. The atmosphere created in every mau5 track, the dreamy euphoric feeling one gets listening to it, the hit one gets after experiencing the mau5 beats – all are wondrous and hard to express. The original version of ‘Strobe’ is more than 10 minutes long but one still can’t get enough of it.
This video of mau5 performing ‘Strobe’ live at Space, Ibiza will give you an idea how magical this track is and what effects does it have on the crowd.
‘Strobe‘ also got numerous remixes and versions – the club edit is a favorite among DJs who can’t play the lengthy original version, the beautiful live version of it by deadmau5 himself was included in his latest studio album ‘Album Title Goes Here‘ as well. Michael Woods also laid upon his work on this masterpiece with his remix of it, Alesia also created their score edit of ‘strobe’ adding a dubstep vibe to it, piano cover by Evan Duffy also received praises from everyone but the ‘Special Features‘ unofficial remix of ‘Strobe‘ is in the forefront, using the original melody to perfection with his electro packed sound & hefty drop – this version you can’t afford to miss out listening to.
